The OBSTA's Air Navigation Obstacle Warning Light Activities have been originated within CLAUDE Company in 1948. This was the natural development of CLAUDE's R&D works on Electrical Discharges in rare gas.

The headquarter is based in Paris, France. The manufacturing plant is in Reims, 150km from Paris. OBSTA is using 3 technologies: cold neon discharge and LED for red lights, xenon for white flashing lights:

For more than 50 years, OBSTA is manufacturing obstruction lights based on cold neon discharge technology, which offer robustness, long duration life whatever is ambient temperature and low power consumption.
For high voltage line, the BALISOR® is an world-wide exclusive product from OBSTA.

OBSTA is manufacturing a new range of LED products called NAVILITE and design to prevent from high temperature effect. OBSTA propose also a complete range of white xenon flashing lights medium and high intensity type.

The Products are designed to suite International Specifications, either International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), FAA and STAC.
