OBSTA cold neon discharge obstruction light


Cold neon discharge light is a robust and extremly long life technology. Lights are 100% hard glass and not senstitive to temperature. OBSTA manufacture the cold-cathode rare gas (neon) lamp key element of the light. Balisor and obsta lamps can reach much more than 10 years lifetime. The lifetime of the lamp is usually limited by the transformer or the electronic converter. It depends also on installation procedure that must follow some precautions.

OBSTA has also developped a complete range of LED obstruction lights called NAVILITE. Theoretically at 20°C, LED lifetime can be as long as 100 000 hours (about 11 years). In reality, the lifetime of LEDs depends on many conditions that includes ambient temperature, ambient electromagnetic fields. NAVILITE concept offers good heat dissipation for optimum led performance. Initial luminous intensity is more than twice higher than ICAO and FAA requirements.
